Orcon Broadband offer two main types of Orcon Broadband package.
Orcon is one of the new breed of New Zealand Broadband Providers. They keep the Orcon Broadband plan prices simple so that you know exactly what things will cost and what you will get.
Some Orcon broadband plans include a telephone landline whilst other broadband plans, like Orcon Naked Broadband doesn't have a home telephone line included as an option.
Orcon does offer Orcon Ultrafast Fibre Broadband and Orcon broadband packages with different data limits and variable speeds.

Didn't know I am just getting a ADSL line instead of fibre. Have always thought ADSL is only temporary until Fibre is connected. Should have mentioned clearly before sign up.

Did not sign up with them in the end and moved to a different provider. I had trouble through sign up as they did not process my order in a timely fashion. They sent an automatic email saying I would receive an email with my order details within 1-2 days, it's been 7 and I never received one. I called them on the 03/01 asking if we were on track to getting my order complete on the 08/01 as I will be working from home some times and need internet, I was told my order had not b ...read more

Misled by two agents.
Calling the sales team takes 12 - 20 minutes to get through to anyone.

Quite surprised what an excellent installation they did, super speedy and efficient and the customer service guy was a kiwi (even better) and extremely switched on
Loving orcon had not a single issue with my fibre B.B. connection
Haven’t checked the price in relation to the super fibre optic we are on with other providers so cost maybe...maybeee a factor . But the service and reliability is brilliant

Upgraded from the Genius plan and have had constant outages on our Ethernet connection. Had Geeks on Wheels in for support as this was insufficient through Orcon. They conveyed that the modem was low spec and prone to drop outs. They dont track client comments as they constantly ask the same questions when giving advice.
Hard to see at this stage.
Bad customer support and poor communications. Modem (Ethernet) drops out regularly.

The issue with Orcon is that when something goes wrong, their Help Desk (until very recently) was in the Philippines and the accent made understanding really difficult. Add to that, the American-style way of telling callers what they are doing at every step of the process instead of just getting on with it and not wasting our time.

I don't often have a problem with their reliability these days and they finally seem to have increased their Help Desk staff numbers.
Charges are high until a better deal is offered by a competitor - then they want to do a deal to keep us with them. They have other ISPs within the Vocus Group that offer the same as Orcon at lower rates but they don't ...read more

This company advertises 3 months fre vdsl till fibre is connected. All for $79. To my surprise I received a bill for $94 within a week. Took me 11/2 hours to get this corrected. Not a great start. My vdsl is also slower compared to my previous adsl. Orcon tells me they can't do anything to fix this.
There are none so far
No one seems to care about anything

Aghast. Third parties let this provider down. Delivery of modem - terrible. Chorus connected the wrong house.

Great, very happy, I had a few questions and they were able to help me right away. Easy to set up, they do it all for you! I applied Wednesday and will be connected on Monday, less than a week! Thanks, will surely recommend

I would like to have fibre but will have to wait to get consent from other property tenants. Nothing of which they can control really
